The Large Pale-browed Treehunter is a Brazilian endemic found in the Atlantic Rain forest of eastern Brazil. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is usually seen searching for insects amongst the leaves of bromeliads.

Pale-browed Treehunter, Boa Nova, Bahia, July 2002 - click for larger image It is rufous brown above with streaking on the head and back. Below it is heavily streaked with brown on buff. The bill is long and straight, it has a pale buff supercilium and the tail is bright cinnamon.

Some authorities lump it with Small Pale-browed Treehunter C. holti.
