Common Name: Summer Snow Hemlock
Summer Snow' is an Oregon native, propagated originally by John Mitsch in Aurora, Oregon. With most of its growth habit characteristics being similar to the species, the new foliage is primarily what sets this beauty apart. In the spring, pure white new foliage sprouts to create a spectacular contrast over the dark green interior. It is also considered a fast-growing Canadian Hemlock with a six to twelve-inch annual growth, and over time, this variety will become somewhat broad and upright
