Hugo Sánchez was a legendary and spectacular striker who played for big teams in Europe and North America. He is considered the best Mexican footballers of all time and one of the best player from Central and North America ever. He quickly established himself as a lethal goal-scoring machine at a tender age with the UNAM Pumas. In 1981 he joined Atletico de Madrid where he won a Copa Del Rey and Super Copa De Espana trophies. During his stint at Atletico, he played 155 games scoring 82 goals. In 1985 he moved to Real Madrid where he was the Liga top scorer for four consecutive seasons and helped the club to win one UEFA Cup, five consecutive La Liga crowns and a Copa Del Rey, scoring 208 goals in 283 appearances. He also played for San Diego Sockers, Club America, Rayo Vallecano, Atlante, Linz, Dallas Burn and Celaya. He represented Mexico in three FIFA World Cup Finals and won the Pan American Games Tournament in 1975 and the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 1977.
