This 1990 BMW Alpina B12 5.0 was delivered new to Japan, where it remained before being imported to the US in 2014. The car is finished in Royal Blue Metallic with silver Alpina graphics over a black leather interior, and power comes from a 5.0L V12 backed by a 4-speed automatic transmission. The car was acquired 18 months ago by the seller, and work over that time included sorting of the exterior, interior, suspension, brakes, engine, cooling system, and more. Now showing 88k kilometers (~55k miles), this B12 5.0 is offered with Alpina Certificates of Authenticity, Japanese factory manuals, service manual, partial service records, and a clean New Jersey title in the seller’s name.

The car was refinished in 2015 in Royal Blue Metallic, and the seller states new headlights, taillights, directional lights, foglights, door trim, front and rear chrome bumper trim, and new rear door seals were fitted. Model-specific features consist of silver Alpina graphics, a front air dam, and B12 5.0 badging. Dents, scratches, and rock chips are present since the repaint.

The recently refinished 17″ Alpina wheels wear Bridgestone Potenza RE760 tires. The seller states the front control arms, bushings, tie rods, center link, pitman arm, idler arm, and stabilizer bushings were replaced, along with the a rebuild of the self-leveling suspension system with new accumulators and hoses. The steering box was rebuilt, and new power steering lines and a canister filter were fitted. A brake booster, master cylinder, regulator, switches, and pressure accumulator were installed in addition to new brake pads, rotors, and stainless steel lines.

The cabin features black leather upholstery with heated front and rear seats, an Alpina steering wheel, burl wood trim, and black carpets. The center console wood was replaced, along with the headliner and front and rear headrest motors. The glove box shocks are noted as not working, the wood trim is cracked on the driver’s door, and the passenger front door jamb seal is worn. The air conditioning is noted as blowing cold and HVAC controls function properly according to the seller.

The digital odometer shows 88k kilometers (~55k miles), about 3k kilometers (~1,900 miles) of which were added by the seller. The Alpina-branded gauge cluster was rebuilt by ProgRama, and a European light control module is fitted.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission. Work carried out by the seller included new transmission mounts, a valve body, filter and fluid, sump seal, and rear shaft seal.
