I have a Toyota BZ4X EV that has a terrible built in AV system for EV functions and since this vehicle take a long time to charge I need something to do while waiting. First off, the Carluex is not out of the box compa table with a North American/Canada AWD Tech package BZ4X and I am working with tech support on the issue but it is a slow process.
The device uses the vehicle CarPlay system and this works well for the most part. The video is crisp and device is fast. The reason I went with the PRO+ is that I wanted a full time stand alone Android Auto solution and adding the memory card and SIm makes this happen. I can not run all android app I was looking to run, ABRP/Car Scanner/NetFlix/YouTube and the list goes on. I contacted Carluex tech support before my purchase to ask about the Bluetooth capability of the device and the answer was it would work with Bluetooth audio devices only but in reality it is a full function Bluetooth interface and connects to my VeePeek ODB2 interface to provide realtime vehicle information to ABRP/Car Scanner.
The device runs super hot! After 60 minutes it is almost too hot to touch and I see a heat sink being needed in future. The return to vehicle AV key is hit or miss, still have not figured out how to make the Hey Google system work properly and it is hit or miss, It flickers at times and drops out and reconnects. I can live with the above problems as it is a work in process for the firmware and even Windows is still just beta…

Within few days of using, I encountered many issues with the quality of the product. I did all the software updates until today 19/april/2024. I’m really unsatisfied with this product and it is not usable at all for me. I have been struggling with this product since day 1.
1) this product takes a long time to connect to Apple carplay of my car for around 15 mins or don’t connect at all. I had to unplug and plug multiple times and it worked once.
2) when connected, I could receive calls via carplay, but my voice is not heard by the other caller. It happened many times and I couldn’t talk at all.
3) Many times, the google maps connected via carplay starts hanging and I could not add a new address. It was stuck there and not refreshing. Same happened with Waze also.
4) Google maps and Waze were getting blurry time to time and not visible while driving.
5) Carluex adapter connected to the wifi to do all the software updates were dropping all the time and I had to manually connect multiple times to make it work.

Play YouTube videos or Netflix videos the audio is a little delayed. I have owned other devices also has this issue. So I believed that wireless playback is not quite there yet versus wired.
