Extraction Method/Origin: Steam distillation from branches—Canada, USA

Chemical Constituents:Monoterpenes (up to 90%): α- & β-pinenes (<73%), δ-3-carene (<35%), camphene (<20%), l-limonene (<20%), β-phellandrene, bisabolene, dipentene; Esters (<23%): bornyl acetate (<23%), terpinyl acetate.

Properties: Antiseptic (genito-urinary, pulmonary), astringent, diuretic, expectorant, anti-inflammatory, sedative (nerves), and tonic.

Common Primary Uses:TMuscle fatigue.

Historical Uses: This fir tree is tall and graceful with a perfect conical shape. Though highly regarded for its fragrant scent, the fir tree has been prized through the ages for its medicinal virtues in regards to respiratory complaints, fever, and muscular and rheumatic pain. The oleoresin from the balsam fir tree has been used extensively for ritual purposes and for the external treatment of burns, sores, cuts, heart and chest pains, and coughs.

Other Possible Uses: This oil may be beneficial for asthma, bronchitis, burns, catarrh, chronic coughs, cuts, cystitis, depression, hemorrhoids, stress-related conditions, sore throat, tension (nervous), tumors, urinary infections, and wounds. This oil may help with anxiety, colds, flu, infections, and pain (reduces). It may help enhance the production of hGH (human growth hormone) and reduce the levels of cortisol. It has been found to be very effective for soothing overworked or tired muscles, ligaments, tendons, and joints. It may also help with back pain.

Oral Use As Dietary Suppliment:Approved by the FDA for use as a Food Additive (FA) and Flavoring Agent (FL). Dilute one drop oil in 1 tsp. honey or in 4 oz. of beverage (i.e. soy/rice milk). Not for children under 6 years old; use with caution and in greater dilution for children 6 years old and over.

Safety Data:Can irritate sensitive skin. Avoid direct sunlight for 3 to 6 hours after use.
