Summary[edit]

Description

The British Mark IV tank was introduced in May 1917 with a total production of 1,220. They were built as either ‘male’, ‘female’ or ‘tank tender’ variants. This is a ‘male’, with two six-pounder QFs and three Lewis machine guns. It is believed to have been part of the 12th Battalion, Royal Tank Corps that participated in the offensive on the Hindenburg Line near Cambrai in August and September of 1918. A gift from the UK at the end of the war, it is on display at the Musee Royal de l'Armee et d'Histoire Militaire Brussels, Belgium.
