Ubuntu Dock Stops Working #857

Soon after uninstalling, Ubuntu docks stops working.

Expected Behaviour
You'd expect to have your menu either on the left, right or bottom of the screen but it disappears and only shows a few seconds after boot up.

  • Occurs on:
    • Wayland
  • Distro: Ubuntu 22.04

+1 on this issue, git rev-parse --short HEAD dbeb869 I guess the install script updated some gnome settings, README only mentioned the min, max icon ...

Actually you need to enable ubuntu dock extensio, found it from https://stackoverflow.com/questions/43668266/gnome-shell-extensions-not-loading-no-error-message-available

gnome-extensions enable ubuntu-dock@ubuntu.com

btw: somehow I wasn't able to get the install from source working again after uninstall, journalctl --since "10 minute ago" /usr/bin/gnome-shell does not have any log related to the extension ...

Is there a way to make Ubuntu Dock extension working with Material Shell? If I enable it, it does not appear.

I think this issue can be closed for now?
@at15 thank you for your reply, I did not know, that dock is the extension. Thought it is built-in XD

No, Material Shell disables the Dock extension on loading
