Fairey Firefly Mk.1 - Trumpeter 05810

The Fairey Firefly was designed as a single-engined, two-seat heavy fighter for the British Fleet Air Arm. Intended to replace the Fairey Fulmar, it was both more powerful and more heavily armed. The Firefly was considered a "pilot's aircraft" being stable and easy to handle during carrier operations. The Firely saw service at the end of WWII and throughout the Korean War and into the early 1060s. This 1/48 scale model of the Firefly Mk. 1 represents the aircraft as seen during WWII. The finished model is 23.7 cm long with a wingspan of 28.2 cm.
