  • Broadleaf evergreen shrub, slow growing, 2 ft (0.5 m) tall, dense, mounding habit, small thorns, 3-parted or simple.  Leaves simple, alternate, 1-2.5 cm long, prickly tip, otherwise entire.  Flowers yellow-orange.  Fruit purple-blue.
