  • Broadleaf deciduous shrub/tree.  Outwardly spreading plant habit, twisted stems, burgundy colored catkins and leaf buds, and rich dark burgundy-colored leaves.  Will produce a few fruit (nuts), but they are small; borne in clusters of one or two.
  • Sun to part shade.  Resistant to eastern filbert blight caused by the fungus Anisogramma anomala.
