Dell XCD 28 & XCD 35 Android Phones

Dell XCD 28 & XCD 35 Android Phones

For starters, Dell had entered into a deal with Chinese mobile manufacturer ZTE to collaborate on smartphones. And the new Dell XCD 28 is eerily similar to the ZTE racer, while the Dell XCD 35 bears a striking resemblance to the ZTE Blade. Unless we are mistaken, both the new Dell offerings are rebranded versions of the ZTE phones – which is not entirely a bad thing, but the term ‘Chinese mobile manufacturer’ does cast some doubts.

As for the phones themselves, they do offer some good features, especially at their respective price points.

Dell XCD 28: The Dell XCD 28 comes with a 2.8-inch resistive touchscreen (256K colours, 240x320 pixels resolution) and runs on Google Android 2.1, powered by a 600MHz processor. It features Google Apps, a 3.15-megapixel camera with autofocus, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth with A2DP, a multimedia player and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The battery life clocks in at three and half hours of talk-time and 200 hours of standby time.

The Dell XCD 28 is available for Rs. 10,999.

Dell XCD 35: The Dell XCD 35 does have some good features, such as a 3.5-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen (256K colours, 480x800 pixels resolution), which also runs on Google Android 2.1. It too features Google Apps, a 3.15-megapixel camera with autofocus, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth with A2DP, a multimedia player and a 3.5mm headphone jack, but the battery life is a bit improved at four hours of talk-time and 216 hours of standby time.

The Dell XCD 35 will be available in December for Rs. 16,990.
