Craterellus cornucopioides- (Black trumpet)

Tasting better than the imported ones! They are a real treat and are usually in numbers. They dry well and keep their flavour. This is a Temperate species but there are also Tropical species like Craterellus verrucosus.

    • I was camping with family there was a lot of rain and I only had my mobile phone for camera. There were plenty around and at the time I had no idea what a great find it was till about 6 months later looking at my mushroom albums and trying to make matches.
Since I have found them in woolworths dried near the garlic section!

  1. Did you happen to take a culture or spore print of this mushroom? I would pay good money for a viable culture of it! I’m very keen to try and cultivate it
