Tasting better than the imported ones! They are a real treat and are usually in numbers. They dry well and keep their flavour. This is a Temperate species but there are also Tropical species like Craterellus verrucosus.

Cool! I’d love to see some of those first hand. š
I was camping with family there was a lot of rain and I only had my mobile phone for camera. There were plenty around and at the time I had no idea what a great find it was till about 6 months later looking at my mushroom albums and trying to make matches.
Since I have found them in woolworths dried near the garlic section!
Did you happen to take a culture or spore print of this mushroom? I would pay good money for a viable culture of it! I’m very keen to try and cultivate it
The photo is taken 24th April 2011, they were abundant. sandy soil, tea trees, heavy rain. Will get back there sometime, did not know what they were at time. Have still some dried trumpets from France if of use. Jason
I know it’s been a few years but it has been a good season.
