CASPER, Wyo. — An investigation is ongoing after a traffic collision south of Laramie on Sunday led to the discovery of “a felony quantity of a controlled substance” in one of the vehicles, according to a Wyoming Highway Patrol social media alert on Monday.

Laramie-based troopers responded to a head-on crash between a passenger car and tractor-trailer combo at milepost 403 on US 287 south of Laramie at 3:15 p.m. Sunday.

“Fire/EMS units extricated and transported the PC driver to the hospital with serious injuries,” the release said.

The truck driver sustained no injuries. The crash briefly blocked both directions, resulting in traffic being rerouted during cleanup.

Investigative efforts are ongoing, the release said.
