"Gritty" Gets His Own Bobble-Head

Flyers Mascot Gets His Own Collectible Bobble-Head

It didn't take long for the Philadelphia Flyers new mascot “Gritty” to take the National Hockey League by storm. Just 36 hours after he was introduced to hockey fans at the Please Touch Museum in Fairmount
Park, “Gritty” surpassed every other NHL mascot in Twitter followers.

The team's new mascot received a lot of attention after he was hatched by the National Hockey League team. With an appearance on “Good Morning America,” “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” and the talk of
late night television, it appeared no matter where you turned you were likely to see the orange-color-hairy creature.

When he first saw the light of day last week, the character made his rounds of local media appearances with guest spots on local television news programs and on radio shows. And while “Gritty” does not speak, his
handler was able to answer many of the must-know questions from reporters and disc jockeys.

This new found popularity is now being realized as “Gritty” gets his own bobble-head.

While public reaction to this wanna-be Muppet has been both positive and negative, his week in the media spotlight has resulted in a limited edition bobble-head featuring the googly-eyed celeb.

“Gritty” will be displayed in his iconic Flyers jersey and ice skates and will stand on a base featuring the team's logo.

Kollectico, the maker of NHL collectibles, has announced that it is accepting pre-orders for the new Flyers mascot. The company says “Gritty's” likeness will be transformed into a limited edition bobble-head and
will be part of a series of 30 NHL mascots featuring every hockey franchise except the New York Rangers who will continue to hold the record as the lone league franchise without an official mascot.

The ultimate Flyers fan will want to add the “Gritty” figure to their collection. The special edition bobble-head will be limited and numbered to 2.019 for the year when they will ship. “Gritty” will come in a collector's
box and will sell for $22.99 plus shipping. Pre-orders are being accepted at BobbleBoss.com.

“Gritty” joins the Flyers organization as only the second team mascot in 42 years. The orange-and-black's first mascot was “Slapshot.”
