Jason Bourne Packs a Punch! Watch Matt Damon Trade Blows in Knockout 'Bourne' Supercut

When push comes to shove, things come to blows between Jason Bourne and the poor, unfortunate chaps who cross his path. Or his fists.

That’s what we’ve learned from the Bourne saga, with Matt Damon cracking his knuckles as the amnesia-plagued super spy. And in this supercut from the franchise – which gears up for the arrival of its latest action-packed outing, Jason Bourne – the stealth mercenary pulls no punches.

In the clip, which also includes snippets from Bourne Identity, Bourne Supremacy and Bourne Ultimatum, Damon puts his deadly hand-to-hand combat skills on full display, squaring off against all manner of foe hell-bent on sending him to his maker. Uppercuts, jabs, head-blows, MMA-style ring fights – it’s a death match’s worth of melees as Bourne seeks to uncover the truth of his identity.

Getting into shape, though, for the bruising fisticuffs was a Rocky-esque battle in itself for the 45-year-old actor.

“It was a lot of work to get back to that, but we felt it was really important,” Damon recently told PEOPLE at the Jason Bourne premiere in Las Vegas of his conversations with the film’s director, Paul Greengrass.

“I still had to keep going to the gym with horrifying regularity to stay in shape, so that was the challenge, along with the long work hours,” he said, adding: “I was in shape for way longer than someone my age should be.”
