Fiery-throated Hummingbird (Panterpe insignis)
The Fiery-throated Hummingbird (Panterpe insignis) is endemic to Costa Rica. In this photo you get a sense of the birds ‘fiery throat’, but I realised that you only see the ‘fiery red’ throat colour when the bird is looking directly at you, which doesn’t make for a great photo!
