Description: This hardy deciduous tree is a perfect low maintenance bush that is oval in shape. Known for its beautiful big white-cream flowers. These flowers have a lovely soft scent. Its dense foliage can be a beneficial screen for gardens, not to mention its beautiful glossy green colour, a great addition as a feature tree.

Origin: The South-eastern United States of America.

Cultural notes: A hardy tree with low maintenance once established. Prune in winter is required. Position in full sun to part shade.

Tolerates: Relatively pest and disease-free. Frost hardy once established. Tolerant of heat and some flooding.

Flowering type and season: Slightly scented, large white flowers are produced at the ends of the tress thick stems. Will show from spring to autumn.

Foliage type and colour: Foliage is dense. The leaves are glossy deep green on the top side and brown on the underside with a felt texture.

Soil type: Prefers well-draining, moist soil. Will tolerate varying soil types and neutral to acidic pH levels.

Height: Up to 4m

Recommended uses: Perfect for smaller gardens, can be used as a screen. Good for streetscapes or grown in containers, tolerates limited soil.
