Description

A semi-evergreen to evergreen flowering shrub with glossy deep green foliage on arching branches. Bronze colored leaves appear as new growth in spring and also in autumn on mature leaves. Clusters of lilac-pink funnel-shaped flowers bloom summer through fall. Can tolerate hard shearing but looks best when pruned selectively. Similar to Abelia grandiflora but ‘Edward Goucher’ has pink flowers, finer textured foliage, and is more compact. Use as a screen or shrubby border or specimen shrub in your landscape.

Plant care

Water regularly during the first year to aid the plant in establishing a strong root system, frequency can be reduced once established. Give it an all-purpose fertilizer in the spring and prune to shape.
