Liz Lieu was born in Vietnam 1974 and as an infant she moved to Colorado, USA. At the age of 18 she learned how to play poker at a regular home game with some good friends. Up until last year she only used her skills in cash games and smaller tournaments. Making her competitive tournament debut at 2005's World Series of Poker, she turned heads and astonished onlookers when she took 5th place in the first public event of the series, winning $169,500. Little did they know that Liz is one of the most successful and aggressive players in the Los Angeles and Vegas $400-$800 cash game scenes. Admitting that her first time success got her hooked" on tournament play, Liz has spent the latter part of 2005 following the tournament circuit, finishing in the money in 8 more events.
In May 2006 she took the challenge from Erik (123) Sagstrom to play a Heads up Challenge of Limit Hold'em.
