This species is accepted
The native range of this species is SE. Mexico to Central America, Bahamas to W. Cuba. It is a tree and grows primarily in the subtropical biome. It is has environmental uses, as a medicine and for food.

Distribution

Native to:

Bahamas, Belize, Cuba, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico Southeast, Nicaragua, Turks-Caicos Is.

Introduced into:

Bangladesh, Cook Is., Fiji, Gambia, New Caledonia, Niue, Trinidad-Tobago, Tristan da Cunha, Tubuai Is., Vanuatu, Wallis-Futuna Is.
