These new futuristic Shoes from Irin Van Herpen are nearly unwearable unless you have the style that goes with it. The famous designer Alexander McQueen( one of my favorite designers) was ahead on this new model shoes called Armadillo at spring/summer 2010 runway. The purpose of these shoes is to extend the silhouette of the woman and to look like an animal or an alien. The famous singer Lady Gaga has contributed to the success of these shoes in her video clip “Bad romance” and her various public appearances. In her video, she wore two different models. Some say that the singer was guided by the style of Alexander McQueen. Since his death, many believe that she has lost her eccentricity.

Another designer that I love is Donatella Versace. I think the Italian fashion industry has remained stylish while creating new trends in accordance with today’s world. The very talented rapper Nicki Minaj, who has a very provocative style has turned toVersace for many shoes and clothes. Here I chose the style of footwear that reflects best her personality .

Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj are new artists ( I consider them new because they have less than 5 years of international career) and they already are “queens” in the field of pop and rap music. What interests me here is not their musical talent, but they are both icons of fashion. Each of their choice of clothing is improble and their haircut shows that they can be as eccentric as they want to be without influencing their respective musical career. Here is my selection of their “best” haircuts.
Strangely we can notice that their haircuts are similar. First they have both chosen to have printed patterns in their hair. Lady Gaga that looks like an elderly person, chose to sprinkle her hair to dark green spots. These are the details of a trendy haircut. Nicki Minaj, opted for a blend of green and blue on a platinum blond. That sounds like a military or a turtle. I would say more a turtle. Then their second haircut reminds me of an enormous mushroom that would grow on their heads. However, a “fashionable mushroom”. Lady Gaga for this hairstyle will be a beautiful purple “mushroom” landed on her blonde hair. She looks like a very nice horse. This is a hairstyle that the famous designer John Galliano would be able to wear. Nicki Minaj chose a pink “mushroom”; it is shaped like a comma; placed in the middle of her head. She takes care finishing off with a smooth fringe. The curls gives a look of sheep.
I think there are a lot of research in their style. These haircuts could be seen at Alexander McQueen’s fashion show or Jean-Paul Gauthier. These queens of music become “queens” of fashion in their own way.
