SEEDS OF DATE PLUM - DIOSPYROS LOTUS
The Date Plum is a tree cultivated for its edible fruit and its ornamental value. The fruit is eaten fresh or dry. It contains sugar and vitamins. Rootstock for the Persimmon.
Deciduous tree growing up to 18m with green leaves and green little flowers. The edible fruit is a plump orangey berry. It adapts to any types of soils.
Direct sowing in winter. Soak the seeds in cool water for 48 hours before sowing. To obtain a more regular and faster germination stratify in cold the seeds for 60 to 90 days before the sowing in spring.
