Flames Field

Address:

901 West Roosevelt Road
Chicago, IL 60608

UIC opened a brand new, rebuilt Flames Field in August 2022.  The facility features a grass pitch with state-of-the-art irrigation and drainage systems.  A new scoreboard and video board were installed.  In addition to grass berm seating behind each goal, a grandstand with capacity for 1,200 was built on the west side of the grounds, offering fans a view of the Chicago skyline beyond the field.

The $4.5 million project also included a press box large enough to accommodate media, officials, staff, and video production for live broadcasts of all home games.  The facility was built in one offseason on the same site as the previous Flames Field, which had been used since 1996.  A review of the project can be seen at this link.

The home of UIC men's and women's soccer, Flames Field is one of the finest collegiate soccer fields in the Chicagoland area.
Designed and build specifically for varsity soccer, the natural grass field sits on the south end of the UIC campus, behind the Physical Education Building. It is the only Division I grass field in Chicago.

The natural grass surface, soccer-only purpose, convenient location near downtown Chicago, and amenities in the surrounding athletic complex have made Flames Field the choice of many top international teams for their training when visiting the Windy City. Liverpool AC, Barcelona, AC Milan, Manchester United, and the United States, Argentina, Mexico, and Chile National Teams have all trained on Flames Field - just to name a few. View the full list of teams here.
