UTEP Miners

University Field

The home of UTEP soccer since its inception in 1996, University Field has been the site of many historic events during the program's history.

In 1999, the addition of lights to the field made it possible for the Miners to play night games. On Thursday, Sept. 23 of that year, UTEP defeated Arizona, 4-3, in the first night game at the facility.

After 19 seasons with a natural-grass playing surface, the field received a major upgrade in the summer of 2015, as it was converted to FieldTurf Revolution CoolPlay. Designed to reduce surface heat, FieldTurf's exclusive cork top dressing allows the revolutionary CoolPlay system to deliver the same results and overall stability as FieldTurf's proven elite systems found in the world's most renowned stadiums.
