The Barolo Serralunga d'Alba by Fontanafredda is a tribute to the exclusivity of Nebbiolo, a variety that reaches its quintessence of elegance, strength, and complexity in the heart of Piedmont. Coming from a rigorous selection of grapes grown in the fertile lands of Serralunga d'Alba, a territory famous for its wines of remarkable structure and aging capacity, this Barolo is a masterpiece of winemaking. The production follows biological and traditional methods, with prolonged maceration of the skins to extract vibrant colors, elegant tannins, and a complex bouquet. Controlled temperature fermentation preserves the distinctive aromas of the varietal and ensures a perfect balance between robustness and elegance. Aging in large oak barrels enriches the wine with aromatic complexity and refines its tannic structure, giving it harmony and an extraordinary aging potential. Visually, the Barolo Serralunga d'Alba displays an intense garnet red color, with reflections that turn orange with aging. The nose is captured by an intense and deep aromatic range, with notes of ripe red fruit, balsamic nuances, touches of tobacco and chocolate, enriched by an earthy character that testifies to its origin. On the palate, it reveals itself as majestic: the attack is powerful but balanced, supported by defined tannins and a lively acidity, culminating in a prolonged and persistent finish. This Barolo from Fontanafredda pairs beautifully with intense and structured dishes. It excels with red meats, game, truffle dishes, and aged cheeses, where its richness and complexity can be best expressed. It is also a contemplative wine, to be enjoyed slowly, allowing one to appreciate its evolution in the glass.

The Fontanafredda winery, founded in 1858 by Vittorio Emanuele II, first King of Italy, for his beloved Rosa Vercellana, has become an icon of Barolo and a model of sustainability and innovation in the Langhe region of Piedmont. Fontanafredda is not just a winery; it is a living legend of Barolo, born from the love between a king and his rose in the pulsating heart of the Piedmontese Langhe. Today, it is a symbol of the Langhe and Italy. With over 120 hectares of organic vineyards, this estate represents a hidden treasure among the hills of Serralunga d'Alba, Barolo, and beyond, where time seems to stand still and nature triumphs in all its splendor. Respect for the land and an ecological approach are central to Fontanafredda's philosophy, which has been practicing organic agriculture since 2015, certified in 2018.
