11. Lucilla's Ring Is An Actual Roman-Era Antique

Throughout the movie, Nielsen's character Lucilla changes costumes frequently. One constant, however, is a large signet ring on her left hand.

Nielsen is a classical history buff, and found the ring while browsing in an antique store. She thought it would be perfect for her character and bought it. Only later did she have it professionally examined to find out that it was made just about the same time as the movie was set, being around 2000 years old, and was a valuable piece of antiquity.
