It’s a female plant with small, dull, white flowers, followed by brownish-red berries in autumn and winter, if male pollinating plant is nearby. 'Golden King' Holly is a tough plant that grows well in most soil types, but prefers fertile, moist, well-drained soils, in full sun or partial shade. It is tolerant of frost, wind, urban pollution and maritime exposure. It needs to be sheltered from drying winter winds. Easy to grow and maintain, doesn’t require regular pruning.
