AS Roma and Tiago Pinto part ways

AS Roma and Tiago Pinto can confirm their decision to mutually part company, effective from Saturday, February 3rd.

AS Roma would like to express its gratitude to Tiago for the unwavering dedication and hard work done over three years and wishes him the best of luck for the future.

"We would like to thank Tiago for his tireless commitment to the entire Organization since day one, from the Men’s First Team to the Youth Academy and the Women’s Department,” said Dan and Ryan Friedkin.

“His term of office will come to an end at the closing of this winter transfer window. The process of hiring a new sporting director is underway and we look forward to making an announcement in the coming weeks.”

Under his guidance as General Manager of Football, the Giallorossi won the UEFA Conference League in 2022 and reached the final of the UEFA Europa League in 2023.

“After three years, I believe that my cycle in Rome has come to an end, and, as my departure approaches, I would like to thank all those who made my stay at the club and in this city so special," said Tiago Pinto.

“First of all, the Friedkin family, who trusted me with this unique opportunity to serve a historical club in a country where football is a passion and tradition.

“I would also like to express my gratitude towards the coaches, players, collaborators, and all those people who supported me in restructuring the sports area. Together, we shared the responsibility and privilege of working for such a precious Club, Roma.

“Lastly, I would like to devote a thought to two protagonists that, in certain aspects, together represent the past, the present, and the future of AS Roma. I’m referring to Roma supporters and the youth sector. The images of our boys being supported by our fans reminded me of the Giallorossi family’s meaning and made me so proud to have been a part of it.”
