Michael Saltzburg is a member of Bennett, Bricklin & Saltzburg LLC, and chairs its Automobile Litigation team. He attended Villanova University Law School, graduating in 1974.
Michael is member in charge of the firm's Delaware County/Chester County, Pennsylvania office and divides his time between that branch and the Philadelphia office.
Michael litigates to verdict several major cases a year, including motor vehicle, products liability and a wide variety of general liability cases. In recent years he has successfully defended a property owner against a claim of a social guest who was rendered a quadriplegic while diving into an above-ground swimming pool; a supplier of allegedly defective vice grips against a claim of a bridge painter who sustained disabling injuries when he fell forty feet onto a concrete abutment; a parking garage against a claim of a deceased man who was killed by an intoxicated motorist who was permitted to leave the parking garage moments before the accident; and a township police department in a civil rights action brought by the estate of a deceased witness who was bludgeoned to death by the person against whom he was to testify.
Recognizing that most cases settle before trial, Michael’s philosophy is to attempt to resolve cases that should be settled, as early as possible in the litigation process. He negotiated a favorable settlement of a claim brought against a meat packing company by a maintenance company employee who lost both hands in the course of cleaning a meat grinding machine (the meat packing company bypassed an interlock on the machine which would have prevented the accident), a claim brought against a crib manufacturer for catastrophic brain damage sustained by a young child in attempting to climb out of the crib (the design of the crib violated Consumer Product Safety Commission Regulations) and a claim against a skylight/fire vent manufacturer by the estate of a deceased workman who fell through the skylight (the workman lived for forty days before expiring).
Michael prides himself in keeping abreast of statutory, regulatory and case law developments. He provides seminars for clients and other attorneys. Michael has argued to the appellate courts of Pennsylvania on over fifty occasions.
