Yellow-eared Parrot (Ognorhynchus icterotis)

Although this was only a few km from the traditional "regular" site for this beautiful but endangered parrot (probably now a Colombian endemic), we weren't particularly looking for it as we'd seen some in the Eastern Andes a few days earlier. However when this bird (part of a group of 4) flew over noisily calling before landing briefly in a nearby tree we had our best views of this species.
