After tying the knot in July of 2022, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have been enjoying their first year as a married couple. Although the duo has a lot in common, from their high-profile careers to their mutual admiration for one another, there’s one thing that they can’t agree on: which television show to watch. While appearing on The Bill Simmons Podcast on March 22, 2023, to promote his new drama, Air, Affleck joked that his wife’s taste in TV doesn’t make sense to him. “I’m kind of disturbed that my wife really likes ‘Yellowstone,'” the Deep Water actor admits. He explained that the “On the Floor” singer loves the romance between Cole Hauser’s character, Rip Wheeler, and his on-screen wife. Affleck did mention that he thinks Hauser is “excellent” in his role, but he can’t seem to get on board with the premise of the drama.

A few days later, on March 27, 2023, the couple attended the premiere of Air together at Regency Village Theater in Los Angeles, California. While introducing the film, Affleck, who is the director, producer, and star of the movie, gave a special shoutout to his wife in the closing of his speech. “And I want to say that none of it would be possible—this company, this movie, this joy tonight—without the love and support of my wife, who means more to me than anything in the world,” he expresses. “I want to say thank you. I love you. You mean the world to me. You’re fabulous. You’re amazing. You’re wonderful, good, kind, magnificent, and I love you.”

At the event, the actor-director also opened up to Entertainment Weekly about how his wife supports him in his personal and professional life. “She’s brilliant, and she helps me in every conceivable way,” Affleck gushes. The pair also graced the red carpet in style. Affleck donned a dark blue double-breasted suit, and Lopez stood by his side in a long-sleeve, high-neck dress with a beaded sheer silver top and a neon yellow skirt. The American Music Award-winner also paired her ensemble with a beaded clutch and diamond drop earrings.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter earlier this month, Affleck mentioned how his wife helped him connect fashion to culture for Air, which is about how Nike scored Michael Jordan as a client and turned his name into a huge sports brand. “She is incredibly knowledgable about the way fashion evolves through the culture as a confluence of music, sports, entertainment, and dance,” he says. The Marry Me actress taught her husband that the shoes Jordans were significant in part because the black community influences culture and style in America, Affleck says. “And in this case, [Nike], a white-run corporate entity, was starting to do business with African American athletes in an identity affiliation sales thing," he explains. "They were really taking value from what Michael Jordan represents and who he is.”

Affleck’s next movie, a sports drama called Unstoppable, is going to be a collaboration with his wife. While Affleck is going to produce the film, Lopez will star in it. The motion picture follows the true story of Anthony Robles, an American wrestler born with one leg. "What fun, what a joy to do something with her, see her be great, go to work with your wife, go to work with your best friend," he said on CBS Sunday Mornings on March 19, 2023. "If you don't like who you're working with, and if you have difficulty or trouble at work, I think it's one of the things that can really cause depression, anxiety, and pain for people."
