    Germination Instructions

Sow in a cold frame in autumn or sow indoors in winter. Under glass, sow into moist, well-drained seed compost. Allow natural winter cold to offer ideal conditions for germination to occur in spring as the weather warms. Indoors, sow seed, place seed tray in a polythene bag and place in the fridge, 4°C for 2 weeks then remove to warmth, 18°C for germination. If germination does not occur repeat cold-warm-cold cycle. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle. Grow on under glass for their first winter. Acclimatise and plant out when danger of frost has passed.

    Growing Instructions

Prefers any well-drained soil in full sun. Ideally grow against a warm, sunny wall.

    Cultivation Instructions

Pruning group 12. Prune in late winter or early spring. Tie in new growth to fill the allotted space. Tie in side shoots to fill gaps. Prune back overlong shoots. Remove dead shoots. Shorten side shoots to within 3-4 buds of the permanent framework of branches.
