Eliptical Circumaural Earcups: The HD 515 headphones feature an around-the-ear design, with cotton velour covered ear cups to provide optimum comfort in those places where sturdy material would rest on your head.
Diaphragms: The diaphragms of dynamic headphones consist of a very thin film that is caused to move by an attached coil. Sennheiser's Advanced Duofol diaphragm technology almost eliminates standing waves inside the capsule because the diaphragm shape is optimized by computer for purer sound reproduction.
Aluminum Voice Coils: The HD 515 headphones have voice coils made of aluminum, an ultra-lightweight and very durable material. Such a low-mass coil, together with the Duofol diaphragm, produces excellent dynamics and are highly efficient for accurate musical reproduction.
Magnet System: These headphones use computer-optimized field-strengthened neodymium ferrous driver magnets for deep bass and clear, crisp trebles.
