Spicy fans, you have a new candy to try. After announcing two new sweet and spicy candies back in May, Mars finally released Skittles Sweet Heat, now available in grocery stores nationwide.
The new Skittles come in five flavors: Sizzlin' Strawberry, Fiery Watermelon, Flamin' Orange, Lemon Spark and Blazin' Mango. To celebrate the release, Skittles asked football player Marshawn Lynch to spread the news, and he went somewhere honest opinions are plentiful — a senior living community.
According to the seniors in the video, the new Skittles do have a kick to them. "It's sweet then it sneaks up on you," one woman said. Another was eating them one at a time because her friend told her they were really spicy. Honestly, the video is worth watching for Lynch's laugh alone.
Food blogger The Impulsive Buy reviewed the Skittles Sweet Heat and Starburst Sweet Heat (which are also now in stores) back in September and said they're "not excessively spicy," and are less hot than War Heads and Flamin' Hot Cheetos, but that they pack a good amount of heat for a candy.
If you're craving more spicy-sweet junk food, Hot & Spicy Cinnamon Oreos hit stores in January, and Sour Patch Kids Fire are said to be coming out soon. You can watch Lynch cruise around in a Skittles golf cart below.
