East LA Jiu Jitsu founders, Ron Mukai, Wendy Mukaiand Scott Torres are all black belts and experienced instructors in Brazilian jiu jitsu (BJJ). Ron Mukai and his family have been leaders in the East LA business community for over 90 years and both Ron and Scott have deep, generational roots in East LA.
Mission: “Building Character Through Jiu Jitsu”. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu produces confident, hardworking, humble, disciplined individuals. East LA jiu jitsu wants every kid on the East side to train (currently as young as 7 years old), and raise up the next generation of leaders in our community!
Promise: “Providing world class jiu jitsu to all East LA youth, regardless of their financial situation”. Fees will be on a sliding scale and nobody will be turned away because of their inability to pay. East LA jiu jitsu partners with other non-profits, charter schools, local churches, government agencies, the community, and generous partners like YOU, to bring BJJ to any youth desiring to learn and grow from this proven discipline.
