Description:
1. Leafy branchlet with inflorescences (a - d). Bract at v. - 2. Shoot with ripe fruits and bracted stalk (f). Young buds at g. The bracts are attached to the stalks with about half of their length and are decurrent to their base. Leaves with whitish tufts of straight hairs in the vein-axils beneath. - 3. Fruits are globose, five-ribbed, thick-shelled, densely hairy nut-like drupes. - 4. Seedling with palmately lobed cotyledons (k), and first ordinary leaves. - 5. Winter-branchlet.
