Debbie Rhodes, 57, of Gravette, Arkansas, entered eternal paradise Thursday, November 2, 2023. She was born in Gravette, Arkansas on April 9, 1966. She graduated with her GED in 1983.

She raised and barrel raced horses for most of her youth. Nothing gave her more joy in the world than being with her horses in her teenage years. Horses were a phenomenal source of happiness for her even when she could no longer ride them.

She married her husband, Jeff Rhodes, on September 28, 1984. They had one daughter, Angela.

Debbie was a jack of all trades. She worked in a dentist office, a pet shop, a factory, a veterinary clinic, and a tool shop.

Debbie was a loving, patient, hilarious, generous, compassionate, brutally honest, and intelligent woman. She was best known for her macabre sense of humor, contagious laugh, loving energy, fiery passion for animals, intense love of horses and, of course, her love of Dr. Pepper.

Debbie’s passing has left a void in this world. She will be sorely missed.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Puryear; her father-in-love, Melvin Rhodes; her mother-in-love, Rita Rhode; and her brother-in-love, Leroy Rhodes.

She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 40 years, Jeff Rhodes; their daughter, Angela (Rhodes) Jennings and their son-in-love, Bryce Jennings; her loving mother, Frankie Puryear; her biological father, LeRoy Hendren; her sister, Heather (Puryear) Roberts; her step brothers, Richard and Markeeta Puryear and Scott and Janet Puryear; and her chosen brothers and sisters; Jackie and Ernie Pointer, Angie Walker and Kevin Martin, Dan and Shirley (Rhodes) Taylor, Tom and Tammy (Rhodes) Knox, Jim and Terry (Rhodes) VonTersch, Dusty Rhodes, Cindy Rhodes; and other countless family, friends, fans, and furry and feathered creatures that were so blessed to know Debbie.

A celebration of Debbie’s life will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023, at the Hiwassee Park and Community Building, 13690 Firehouse Lane, Hiwasse, AR 72739 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
