Courteney Cox is getting real about the “domino effect” of fillers.

During a recent appearance on the Gloss Angeles podcast, the Friends and Scream VI star reflected on her warped perspective of her own face before choosing to have her fillers dissolved. “It's a domino effect,” Cox said in a teaser for the upcoming episode, which was shared on the podcast's Instagram page on March 7. “It's like you don't realise that you look a little off, so then you keep doing more cause you look normal to yourself.”

The 58-year-old actor said, “You look in the mirror and go, ‘Oh, that looks good,’ you think, and you don't realise what it looks like to the outside person, and just doing too many fillers and having to have them removed—which thank God they are removable—I think I messed up a lot and now luckily I can. I was able to reverse most of that, now I'm actually just older.”

Cox first opened up about her plastic surgery regrets during a 2016 episode of NBC's Running Wild. “I think there's a pressure to maintain [your looks] not just because of fame, but just being a woman in this business,” she told host Bear Grylls. “Getting older, I don't think that's the easiest thing. But I have learned lessons. I think I was trying to keep up with getting older and trying to chase that. It's something you can't keep up with.”

She went on: “Sometimes you find yourself trying, and then you look at a picture of yourself and you go, ‘Oh God, I look horrible.’ I have done things that I regret, and luckily there are things that dissolve and go away. So that's good because it's not always been my best look.” She later confirmed she had all her facial fillers dissolved in 2017.

As she approaches her 60s, Courteney Cox is embracing a new outlook on ageing. “There was a time when you go, ‘Oh, I’m changing. I’m looking older.’ And I tried to chase that [youthfulness] for years,” she told The Sunday Times Style in February 2022. “And I didn’t realise that, Oh shit, I’m actually looking really strange with injections and doing stuff to my face that I would never do now.”

She continued, “There’s nothing wrong with being 60, I just can't believe it. Time goes so fast. There’s no question that I am more grounded, I’ve learned so much in my life—what to enjoy, what to try to do more of, and what to let go of.”
