It seems as though Kate Middleton and Prince William met in a completely relatable way, while still at college.

According to The Express, one of Kate and William's earliest meetings was as awkward as any romantic comedy meet cute. The publication claims that the Duchess of Cambridge was incredibly shy when she met her future husband, while they were both studying Art History at the University of St Andrews in Scotland in 2001.

In their official engagement interview back in 2010, Kate admitted that when she first met the royal, she "went bright red... and scuttled off feeling very shy." But clearly, those nerves didn't last for long, as soon the pair became close friends.

Kate adorably revealed, "It did take a bit of time for us to get to know each other." However, Prince William admitted that he had very little recollection of the first time he met his future wife.

However, whether or not their meet cute at college was their very first meeting is a point of contention. According to royal biographer Katie Nicholl (via Bustle) in her 2015 book, Kate: The Future Queen, several of Kate's former school friends claim that they actually met prior to attending St Andrews together.

Reportedly, Nicholl spoke to several sources, that attended Marlborough School with Kate, who allegedly told the biographer: "She didn't meet him at St. Andrews. She met him before she got there... through some of her friends. They knew Prince William and Prince Harry."

Regardless of which version of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's meet cute is the truth, the couple's relationship continues to stand the test of time.
