Appearance

This species is one of the biggest geckos, reaching 350 millimetres . It is named after Andrew Smith , Scottish zoologist and founder of the South African Museum.

Species of similar appearance include ''Gekko taylori'' and ''Gekko gecko'', as well as ''Gekko verreauxii'' and ''Gekko siamensis'' .
Smiths Green-eyed Gecko About the biggest gecko I have ever seen in my life. This species can reach 30 cm. It was hanging around in the ceiling of the roof of the lodge´s dining terrace next to the river.
