Time has signaled its intention to focus on growing events revenue in 2024, annointing Executive Editor Dan Macsai as its first Chief Events Officer. This year's 27 events — there were 10 last year — have been a boon to the media company's bottom line, showing a 70% year-over-year increase in U.S. revenue and a 14% bump internationally (no hard figures were released). CEO Jessica Shibley explained the move by saying events are "where the demands and the client asks are."

  • Macsai has been serving as vice president of events since February 2022.
  • His staff, which has grown from five to 13 this year, will be responsible for design, sales, customer success, programming and audience development.
