LOT 154 Miami 2024 <> RM Sotheby's Sotheby's Motorsport 2005 Ferrari 575 Superamerica $400,000 - $550,000 USD   | Coral Gables, Florida Chassis No. ZFFGT61A650145715 To be offered on Friday, 1 March 2024 Two owners since new; originally delivered to noted enthusiast Michael Fux Equipped with the highly sought-after HGTC handling package Exceptional, special color scheme of Rosso Fiorano over Crema Well-maintained and in pristine condition; 1,639 actual miles at the time of cataloguing Ferrari’s 575 Superamerica was immediately set apart by its Revocromico rotating hardtop, the first of its kind ever fitted to a production car. It was constructed using a carbon fiber frame integrated with electrochromic glass; when the top was closed, the opacity of the glass could be adjusted via a dial in the cabin, allowing the driver and passenger to experience the full brightness of a conventional sunroof at its lightest setting or just 1% of available light at its darkest. Further, the Superamerica could be transformed into a convertible at the touch of a button, with the roof rotating back to rest flush with the rear deck in just 10 seconds. Combined with the potent drivetrain of the 575M Maranello beneath, it made for a formidable sports car for all occasions and weather, that was true to the storied spirit of the Superamerica name. The Superamerica offered here was specified from Miller Motorcars of Greenwich, Connecticut, by the renowned supercar collector Michael Fux. It was desirably finished in the beautiful and striking livery of Rosso Fiorano, a very rare shade, over a Crema leather interior, with Daytona-style seats piped and stitched in Bordeaux, yellow-painted brake calipers, and the HGTC package. Perhaps the single most desirable option for the Superamerica, the HGTC package consists of carbon ceramic brakes with racing-specification pads and calipers, 19-inch rims, a lowered suspension, titanium racing exhausts, and faster calibration for the steering rack, adding more performance to an already capable supercar. #classic #classics #classiccars #collectorcars #carcollectors #historic #vintage #performance #racing #rallying #driving #car #cars #automotiveindustry #auto #autos #autoindustry #auction #forsale #sold #automotive #investment #privatesale
