Origin
The Pinus nigra 'Green Tower', also known as the Black Pine, originates from the mountainous areas of Southern Europe and Southwest Asia. This plant is a variety of the Pinus nigra, specifically bred for its slim, upright form that performs well in urban landscapes and small gardens.

Characteristics
The Pinus nigra 'Green Tower' is a slow-growing, hardy, evergreen conifer. Its principal characteristics are its dark green, sturdy needles and striking, hard bark. The tree grows in a symmetrical, columnar shape and can reach a height of 12 to 15 metres. Like most pines, the 'Green Tower' produces pine cones, but these are relatively small compared to other types.

Care
The Pinus nigra 'Green Tower' prefers a sunny location with well-drained soil. This plant is incredibly resilient and can tolerate both dry and wet conditions. Despite its adaptability to many soil types, the 'Green Tower' prefers slightly acidic to neutral soil. The tree is largely free from common diseases and pests and requires little maintenance, aside from occasional pruning to maintain the slim shape.
