In an Instagram post titled “Goodbye, California!” Von D (whose given name is Katherine Von Drachenberg) officially announced her plans to close Hollywood’s High Voltage Tattoo.

“As some of you know, we recently purchased a beautiful home on a bit of land in rural Indiana, and the more time we spend out there we realize we feel more at home there than we do here in LA,” she wrote.

“After much thought, we have decided we will permanently be moving to Indiana at the end of this year. We plan on selling our beautiful home here, and I will most likely open a private studio in Indiana once we are done with the house remodel there.”

Last year, the 39-year-old Montemorelos, Mexico, native bought the historic Benjamin Schenck Mansion in Vevay, Ind. The listing price for the property was $1.87 million.

According to WKRC, the 35-room house was built in 1874 and is believed to be haunted.

With more than 12,000 square feet, the property features a four-story tower, four porches, seven balconies, and 13 fireplaces.

About 100 miles southeast of Indianapolis, the Ohio River town is halfway between Cincinnati and Louisville and is known as the home to the first commercial winery in the U.S.

Von D is currently married to artist and singer Rafael Reyes, also known as Leafer Seyer. In December 2018, the couple welcomed their firstborn, a boy named Leafar Von D Reyes.

The in-demand ink artist said by year’s end, with the couple calling Vevay home, it isn’t practical to keep High Voltage operating.

“I didn’t think it would make sense to keep it open if I wasn’t present, and aside from coming back to work on music with my band, we don’t plan on returning to LA very often,” she shared.

The shop was the scene for the TLC reality series “L.A. Ink,” and also was a hot spot for music acts such as Lil Wayne, Rihanna, John Mayer, Eminem and Mary J. Blige.

“Thank you for 14 years of love + tattooing!,” Von D ended her post.
