3) Section and nib removed from barrel. The section unscrews. I used low heat from a variable temperature heat gun to gently warm the joint. I used section pliers to grip the section. I apparently got lucky with this pen as it wasn't too hard to unscrew. Force it and you can shear off the section or crack the barrel.
