Dungeons & Dragons publisher Wizards of the Coast kicked off “the summer-long celebration of all things Drizzt” on Thursday, including a preview of new D&D-themed cards for Magic: The Gathering. But it also took the opportunity to promote its upcoming motion picture, and tease an in-development live-action television show — which “might” feature fan-favorite character Drizzt Do’Urden, according to Wizards.

Fans have known that a D&D-themed movie has been in development since at least 2016, and a star-studded cast has slowly been revealed over the last few months. It includes Chris Pine, Hugh Grant, Rege-Jean Page, Michelle Rodriguez, Sophia Lillis, and Justice Smith. But far less is known about the live-action television show, announced in January. So far, fans have learned only that Derek Kolstad, creator of the John Wick franchise, is attached to the project.

A news release issued on Thursday by Wizards of the Coast made note of the television series and the movie, but also seemed to imply that Drizzt could be part of both.

“In addition to videogames and novels,” wrote Wizards, “the Legend of Drizzt has action figures, Magic: The Gathering cards, Funko POP figures, Halloween costumes, t-shirts, replica scimitars and more. A live action TV show is in development with eOne entertainment and a movie starring Chris Pine, Hugh Grant, Rege-Jean Page, Michelle Rodriguez, Sophia Lillis, and Justice Smith is in production.”

Polygon reached out to Wizards for clarification: Will Drizzt be included in the film, the television series, or both?

“The D&D movie is not focused on Drizzt,” Wizards said in an email, “but there is a TV show in development that might be.”

Drizzt Do’Urden is a drow, a member of a dark-skinned race of elves in the lore of D&D’s Forgotten Realms setting. His story began in the late 1980s with author R.A. Salvatore’s novel The Crystal Shard, then culminated with Streams of Silver and New York Times bestseller The Halfling’s Gem. Drizzt himself has since appeared in more than 30 novels and several video games. He’ll be featured prominently in the upcoming game Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance, which launches on June 22.
