• Courteney Cox revealed her “biggest beauty regret” in a recent interview.
  • The 59-year-old said she regrets getting facial fillers.
  • Cox has since dissolved her fillers and is “as natural as [she] can be.”

If honesty was a person—it’d be Courteney Cox. The actress is no stranger to sharing thoughts about life experiences. Whether she’s opening up about the great things about aging, sharing her makeup routine, or revealing her not-so-great experiences with cosmetic treatments, Cox keeps it real. Now, the beloved Friends star is getting honest about her “biggest beauty regret:” face fillers.

Cox opened up about her regrets in regards to the cosmetic treatment during an interview with Woman magazine, per the Daily Mail. “My biggest beauty regret is fillers. There’s so much pressure to stay looking young in this industry that once you start, it becomes a bit of a domino effect and you keep on having more,” she told the outlet.

The Scream VI star said she didn’t realize how noticeable the changes to her appearance were to others. “To the rest of the world your face is so obviously changing, but to yourself—because you’re only having one procedure at a time—you don’t notice.” This led to Cox undergoing multiple procedures. The biggest “waste” for the star was the fillers. “It was a total waste of time and I wish I hadn’t caved into the pressure of having it,” she said.

This isn’t the first time Cox admitted that past filler looked “really strange” and shared her experience with aging. In February 2022, the actress opened up to The Times about her experience with injectables. She also spoke to the reasons that led to getting the treatments done in the first place: The pressures to maintain a youthful appearance in Hollywood. “There was a time when you go, ‘Oh, I’m changing. I’m looking older.’ And I tried to chase that (youthfulness) for years,” Cox told The Times. “And I didn’t realize that…I’m actually looking really strange injections and doing stuff to my face that I would never do now.”

Fans took notice of her changing appearance. But ultimately, Cox became her own worst critic. “The scrutiny is intense, but I don’t know if it could be more intense than what I put on myself,” she told the outlet.

Cox eventually decided she wanted to stop, and in 2017 she made the decision to dissolve all of her face fillers and to age naturally. “Thinking that I was getting older when I was really young, that’s just a bummer, a waste of time,” she said to The Times. “I messed up a lot, and luckily I was able to reverse most of that. And now I’m just older.”

Just because Cox decided she wanted to steer clear of cosmetic procedures in the future, doesn’t mean she stopped caring about beauty altogether. Instead, the star simply changed her approach to be “as natural as [she] can be,” per NewBeauty, and focus on good-for-you skincare products.

For a moisturizer that “illuminates” skin, Cox is “nuts about” Dermalogica’s Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF50 Moisturizer that protects skin against UV rays and smoothes fine lines with the help of a polypeptide blend.
