Patagonian cavy or mara

Description:

Mother and a pair of young mara. Mother is about 28 inches long and about 24 inches high with a coat of dark brown/black on the top lightening to a white under belley. Longish (5 to 6 inch long) ears. Rabbit or hare like in appearance.

Habitat:

Petting zoo exhiobit at the South Florida State Fair.

Notes:

Not an ideal location for the animals but was in clean quarters and separated from male Mara which were kept 50 feet away in separate cages.
