In the last twenty years, Tribeca has been steadily rising as a popular neighborhood and is now officially considered the hottest area in the city.

This Tribeca neighborhood review will examine public transportation, restaurants, average apartment rent, and sale prices.

As safety steadily increased in lower Manhattan in the 90s, people discovered beautifully converted loft warehouses in Tribeca (which stands for Triangle Below Canal Street) and historic rowhouses.

Spacious open floor plan, reminiscent of those in Soho, but quieter, cheaper, and not inundated with retail and foot traffic were top alluring factors.

Today, Tribeca is where you can rub shoulders with upper-middle-class folks, the rich, and celebrities.

It is considered a neighborhood with a lovely industrial-meets-classic feel, a family-friendly area with gorgeous green spaces, and home to many of the trendiest restaurants, unique boutiques, art galleries, and gourmet coffee shops.

Put further on the map by the Tribeca Film Festival, the neighborhood exponentially appeared in the 2000s.

Shouldered by the West Village, Chinatown, and the Financial District, you can quickly access unique areas from Tribeca.

Fun Fact: To restore the spirit and economy of New York City following the September 11 attacks, Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, and Craig Hatkoff founded the Tribeca Film Festival, which has brought in over half a billion of economic activity to city residents.

Real Estate in Tribeca

Tribeca is a victim of its popularity and success, with rental prices sky-high (let alone condo units).

The real estate market in Tribeca is one of the most desirable and expensive in New York City.

With its central location close to many high-end restaurants and shops, Tribeca offers residents a unique experience that can't be found anywhere else.

There are countless luxury apartments for sale and rent throughout the neighborhood, from historic lofts built during the 19th century to modern luxury condominiums with breathtaking views of New York's Financial District and harbor.

This neighborhood often boasts first place for the most expensive housing in the city. Known for its gorgeous loft and warehouse conversions, these sprawling apartments will fetch a pretty penny.

Several housing options are available in Tribeca: studios to single-family homes, townhouses to duplexes.

Tribeca is also home to various luxury condos that offer top-of-the-line amenities such as 24/7 concierge services, swimming pools, private theater rooms, spa facilities, private garages, or storage spaces.

In addition to these features, many newer construction buildings come equipped with state-of-the-art kitchens featuring top appliances like Viking ovens or Sub zero refrigerators; flooring made from stone or hardwood; custom lighting fixtures; smart home technology; soundproofing insulation; wine cellars; outdoor decks with firepits; pet spas; yoga studios; saunas; steam baths; massage rooms, etc.

However, the converted loft buildings tend to have much more spacious apartments, higher ceilings, and beautiful open floor plans in Tribeca's diverse real estate market.

Tribeca also offers a variety of choices in coffee shops outside the usual Starbucks.

A heavenly Asian bakery that will satisfy your sweet tooth is Takahashi Bakery. You will never have a dessert like this outside of NYC unless you visit Asia. The matcha crepe is a local favorite!

It is a small area, but many excellent schools are within its geographical district 2.
